The rhythmic click-clack of the knitting needles was a comforting sound. I sat on the porch swing, watching the sunset paint the sky in vibrant hues of orange and purple. The cool evening breeze ruffled my hair. I felt a profound sense of well-being, a quiet joy bubbling up inside me.

“Remember that time we went to the beach?” I asked, a smile playing on my lips.

Liam nodded. “Yeah, it was amazing. I surfed the best wave of my life.”

I chuckled. “You fell off the board almost immediately.”

Liam’s smile faltered. “I did not! I was practically a pro.”

“Liam, you spent most of the day being pounded by waves. I remember having to haul you out of the water twice because you were coughing up seawater.”

He huffed. “Fine, maybe I wasn’t Kelly Slater. But I surfed *something*!”
